May 2014: Klerksdorp, be prepared to be refreshed - you're up next

Caption: Thousands of people flocked to Kagiso in Mogale City for the previous leg of the CAN! DO Refresh Tour, where Dr Malinga (top left photo), Arthur Mafokate (top right photo), Chomee, Candy, Busiswa, DJ AJ and others smashed out some vibey tunes in April 2014. In the meantime, anticipation is rising as the next free CAN DO! Refresh Tour concert is set to take place on 24 May 2014 at Joubertina Stadium, Klerksdorp, North West.

The countdown has begun and anticipation is rising as the next free CAN DO! Refresh Tour concert is set to take place on 24 May 2014 at Joubertina Stadium, Klerksdorp.

Inspired by the spirit of South Africa's music talent and the freshest new sounds, the CAN DO! Refresh Tour has had tremendous success in the Western Cape, KwaZulu Natal and Gauteng already this year. Klerksdorp, North West is the fourth stop on this nationwide tour.

CAN DO!, Nampak Bevcan's consumer facing brand, will partner with Collect-a-Can and top musicians and DJs to host the can-only concert.

Partygoers can expect a varied line-up and an explosion of talent with performances by the likes of Donald, Dr Malinga, Chomee, Oskido, Arthur, Uhuru, Kelly Khumalo, and DJ AJ.
The event will take place on Saturday, 24 May 2014 at Joubertina Stadium, Klerksdorp from 12:00 PM until late and entrance to the concert will be free of charge.
"We want to refresh South Africa's thinking, our future and refresh the world," says local queen of dance, Chomee.

A big part of the CAN DO! Refresh Tours' nationwide presence involves a dedication to giving back to the communities in which the concerts take place. CAN DO! aims to empower the youth, local businesses and performers by offering a platform to reveal their talents and share their passion.

"We can see a definite rise in can-only parties popping up across the country," says Alexandra Bouwer, Marketing Manager for Nampak Bevcan’s CAN DO! brand. "We attribute this trend to the fact that cans are safer and more environmentally friendly than other types of beverage packaging, and overall much much cooler!"

To maximise the positive influence and opportunity, partygoers can donate their used beverage cans towards a charity in the area. The money generated through collecting these cans will then be awarded to the charity on the partygoers' behalf.

Collect-a-Can, Southern African can recovery company will be onsite to collect all cans for recycling, during and after the event. "We love the idea of saving the environment by encouraging partygoers to recycle their used beverage cans in order to make a donation to a great cause", says Zimasa Velaphi, Collect-a-Can Marketing and Public Relations Manager.

By involving local charities, residents can feel part of the event and take ownership of its success, while making a positive impact on the environment and having good time.
