The countdown has begun and anticipation is rising as the next free CAN DO! Refresh Tour concert is set to take place on 09 August 2014 at the University of Venda, Thohoyandou, Limpopo.

Inspired by the spirit of South Africa's music talent and the freshest new sounds, the CAN DO! Refresh Tour has had tremendous success in the Western Cape, KwaZulu Natal, Gauteng, North West, Eastern Cape and Mpumalanga already this year. The University of Venda, Limpopo is the seventh stop on this nationwide tour.

CAN DO!, Nampak Bevcan's consumer facing brand, will partner with Collect-a-Can, Southern African can recovery company; top musicians and DJs to host the can-only concert.

"We can see a definite rise in can-only parties popping up across the country," says Alexandra Bouwer, marketing manager for Nampak Bevcan’s CAN DO! brand. "We attribute this trend to the fact that cans are safer to consume in public arenas, and are more environmentally friendly than other types of beverage packaging and overall much much cooler!"

A big part of the CAN DO! Refresh Tours' nationwide presence involves a dedication to giving back to the communities in which the concerts take place. CAN DO! aims to empower the youth, local businesses and performers by offering a platform to reveal their talents and share their passion.

Partygoers can expect an explosion of talent with performances by the likes of Zola, Arthur, Chomee, Donald, Cassper Nyovest, Kelly Khumalo and DJ AJ. These greats will also be supported by local talent that will soon be announced.

“Supporting local musical talent has been a key focus of the tour," says Arthur Mafokate, South Africa's original Kwaito king and celebrated music producer. "The concerts are created to develop the fast growing youth culture that says 'anything is possible if you have a CAN DO! attitude to life' and that is why we want to support talent that embody that positive attitude."

The event will take place on Saturday, 09 August 2014 at the University of Venda, Thohoyandou, Limpopo from 12:00 PM until late and entrance to the concert will be free of charge to all university students.

Collect-a-Can will be onsite to collect all cans for recycling, during and after the event. Thirsty partygoers ensured that a whopping 680 kilograms of recycled cans were collected at the previous event at Ground Zero Matsulu in Nelspruit, 80% of which were aluminium cans.

"The weighing and collecting of cans at the event will hopefully create awareness about the value of used cans, ultimately encouraging partygoers to collect cans and generate an income for themselves or others after the party. Aluminium cans have a higher value than steel cans and it was therefore great to have so many aluminium cans recovered" says Zimasa Velaphi, Public Relations and Marketing Manager of Collect-a-Can.

"By recognising and investing in our country’s talent, CAN DO! is making a difference to the music and entertainment industries " says Alexandra Bouwer, marketing manager for Nampak Bevcan’s CAN DO! brand. "But what remains core is making a difference to our environment, so through the concerts we want to encourage all partygoers to join the change to refresh South Africa's thinking, our future and refresh the world."
