Our Achievements

THE COLLECT-A-CAN REACH

  • Collect-a-Can’s recovery rate has remained high, and confirms us as one of the leading countries in metal can recovery.
  • Annually, an estimated 100 000 collectors are creating an income or substituting a low income at any given time, to safeguard the livelihoods of thousands of southern Africans.
  • Collect-a-Can has sponsored the Eco-Logic Recycling Award for two consecutive years, in 2013 and 2014, to encourage sustainable business and give exposure to excellence in green business operations.
  • Collect-a-Can has gone from near invisibility to being known and respected amongst all influential members of society, spreading the recover-and-recycle message.
  • We are creating a new culture of recycling with millions of school children having been introduced to the idea of caring for the environment. Collect-a-Can’s schools competition attracts between 300 and 500 schools annually. These schools earn cash and win prizes, while getting their learners excited about recycling.

Our communities, the environment and our precious natural resources have been benefiting for over 22 years.
