January 2016 - Collect-a-Can Cape Town operations continue as normal

Southern Africa’s can recovery and recycling organisation, Collect-a-Can, announced today that can recovery operations in Cape Town will continue as normal despite the decision to streamline its national strategy and restructure its local operation.

“Collect-a-Can is still committed to the can recovery in the whole of Southern Africa and will continue to operate in- and service the Cape region,” says Zimasa Velaphi, public relations and marketing manager of Collect-a-Can.

Collect-a-Can assures its local partners and clients that its efforts to protect the environment and educate and uplift the Cape communities will not be negatively affected by this decision. Can recoveries will still be done and the Cape Town office will be operated by Collect-a-Can’s business development officer, Melanie Adams.

“We have always worked closely with our Collect-a-Can representatives and partners to help deliver on local can recovery needs and maintain our Cape regional footprint. For 23 years, Collect-a-Can has been at the forefront of minimising the negative impact of used metal cans on the environment and we will continue to do so going forward”, concludes Velaphi.

Should anyone require clarity or have any can recovery requirements within the Cape region, please contact Melanie Adams at 083 407 7355 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
